Those who still think 2012 Mercedes Benz GL-Class as a luxury large SUV, they may not have seen the 2013 model of the vehicle. The second-generation GL-class three-row SUV has been launched by Mercedes-Benz. For 2013, Mercedes GL gets some minor exterior styling updates, enhanced interior room and standard features as well as two new turbocharged engines. The German automaker’s full-size sport-utility was first debuted at 2012 New York Auto Show. This luxury comes with lots of space for seven passengers in a 2-3-2 layout, so it is an excellent car for large families. Users of this car can use it for both on-road and off-road. 2013 Mercedes GL is expected to hit the US and UK market in September 2012 and in early 2013 respectively.

Compared to previous version, the 2013 version is larger, wider and looks much better. The exteriors of the all-new 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL are much like its predecessor but have crisper character lines, new taillights, LED integrated headlights, re-designed bumper, the LED fog lights, wide air outlets and more aggressive front apron. The extraordinary exterior of the car is completed by huge roof spoiler and bumper in the modern wing design along with a big chrome skidplate. In 2013 version, the exhaust pipes will be found hidden behind the rear apron. Several modifications have been done in the interiors of 2013 Mercedes GL.
It has upgraded steering, center console, seats and instrument cluster. It includes stylish dashboard and center stack large, generous amounts of wood trim, silver chrome controls and soft leather upholstery along with contrasting stitching. It also has more cargo space as well as more shoulder, elbow and headroom on each and every seating row. Electric sliding sunroof, Collision Prevention Assist, electrically operated easy-pack tailgate, attention assist, easy entry system for convenient access to the third row of seats from both sides, central command controller, Crosswind Stabilization, high-insulation windscreen or electromechanical steering, self-leveling air suspension and colour screen with photo-realistic display are the standard features of the car.
2013 Mercedes GL will be available in 3 trims such as the GL 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC, GL 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY and GL 63 AMG. There will be three engine options such as 3.5-liter diesel turbocharged V6 diesel engine that delivers 240 bhp and 455 lb.-ft. of torque, 4.7-liter V8 petrol-engine that produces 362 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque and 5.5-liter biturbo V8 petrol engine that churns out 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. 19-inch twin five-spoke alloy wheels are standard on GL350 BlueTEC and GL 500 while GL 63 AMG sports 21-inch AMG twin 5-spoke wheels. GL350 BlueTEC and GL 500 will be also available with 20-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels options.
Optionally, the 2013 Mercedes GL is equipped with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Multi-color Ambient Lighting, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Parktronic with Active Parking Assist, Panorama roof, Driver Assistance Package, the Blind Spot Assist System, Active Curve System, Surround View Camera, Power EASY-ENTRY second row and On-and Off-Road Package.
