In conjunction with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Lexus will unveil the new generation GS sedan on 18th August, 2012. The company is also planning a coupe version of this model. The new GS Coupe will be a successor to the SC 430 and will target models like the BMW 650, Audi S5 and Mercedes Benz E-Class Coupe. As per Ben J. Mitchell, product planner manager of the company – the emotional qualities of the brand are being tried to increase. He said that they want to highlight exterior styling and dynamics.

For Lexus, after the IS hardtop convertible, GS Coupe will be the second 2-door model with more than 2 seats. It is expected that the car will feature a V6 engine with 3.5 liter capacity and will deliver around 300 HP. The car is expected to be available by the end of 2013. The 2014 Lexus GS Coupe could be wearing GS F badges.
It may also have a high-output V-8 drivetrain to enhance the performance to a level on parity with the faster end of the competitive spectrum. In the image both the profile and rear looks slimmed down without losing any of the 2012 model’s mass. The taillights and a greenhouse are similar to those on the 2013 GS and ES sedans. Probably the interior will be also cleaned up.
It has not been known whether Lexus would offer an all-wheel-drive platform or just keep it rear-wheel-drive. Since all-wheel-drive vehicles are gaining more sales and popularity the upcoming 2014 Lexus coupe, may also feature an all-wheel-drive. The price of the 2014 Lexus GS may start off around $50,000 for the base model.
