Online education is a new trend and everyone knows it very well; but do you know that the offline education with tablet is going to be possible in near future. Yes it is a 100% trueeee…because now Alphabetics Computer Services has introduced two new tablets – TabGuru Alpha Edu-I & Edu-II for educational purpose instead of competing head to head with other 7 inch and 10 inch tablets. It will be the first tablet, which gives offline education on tablet PC. Both TabGuru tablets are powered by Google’s latest Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and 1.5 GHz processor with 512 MB of DDR3 RAM.

Almost both tablets are available with identical features and specifications, but the major difference is in its screen size and battery. The Alpha Edu-I comes with 7-inch capacitive touch-screen display with 800×480 pixels resolution, while Alpha Edu-II offers capacitive 10-inch display with 1024×600 pixels resolution. It also differs in battery; Alpha Edu-I uses 3,000mAh battery that runs 3 to 4 hours with single charge, while Edu-II uses 6,000mAh battery that runs 4 to 5 hours with full charge.
The tablets are available with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage capacity, which you can extend up to 32GB using micro SD card slot. Dimension wise Alpha Edu-II is slight thicker and heavier than its equivalent. It is 13.5mm thick compared to 6.5mm thickness of the other and 650g in a weight as opposed to the 345g of the Edu-I. It is packed with further more features like 0.3MP camera, a microphone and 16 GB Micro SD card. It is also supported with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, WCDMA / TD-SCDMA / CDMA2000, External USB port for 3G and 3.5mm audio jack. One of the best unique features of TabGuru series is that it is loaded with numerous 1 year’s worth of educational material, which will be available in both video and animation format and become most useful for English and regional schools across ICSE, SSC and CBSE boards. ICSE and CBSE boards already offer e-learning contents but due to the lack of investment in computer and low use of internet connection in India, it has not reached to all students. But with these tablets, Alphabetics promised that they will deliver educational content to their target consumers by offering an innovative offline way.
Users can take the benefit of educational content only for one year after that they can load the material on their tablet at a cost of Rs. 1000. The meaning of offline and pre-loaded education content is, students can learn without internet connectivity and use the table as learning device. The TabGuru Alpha Edu-I and Alpha Edu-II will be available at the price of Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 14,999 respectively. These tablets are expected to be available in local market in August 2012.
