Archos, the French consumer electronics company launched a device named Carbon 97. Archos recently entered into the tablet market by releasing a tablet named Child Pad. The company is well-known for its quality of products. Though Archos is not the biggest names among the tablets makers, the company has been very quick in offering Android-based devices at a good deal.

Carbon 97 is being compared and considered as an alternative to the Nexus 7. The tablet sports 9.7 inch tablet with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels running on Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Archos Carbon 97 is available for sale and it is offered at a price tag of $249.
Carbon 97 is powered by a single-core 1.0 GHz processor along with 1GB of RAM. The tablet has a 0.3Megapixel camera at front and 2 megapixel camera at rear that features a mini-HDMI port for connecting it to the HDTV. The tablet can record 1080p HD video. The device claims to get 8 hours of battery life while playing the videos. Carbon 97 has storage of 16GB along with a microSD slot to expand the memory up to 48GB. Besides these features, it includes micro-SD, HDMI out, micro-USB, G-sensor and 3.5mm audio jack. The tablet is pre-loaded with documents like Excel, Power Point and Word. The users can also access the Google Play Store.
