Several mobile operating systems are coming up with amazing and exciting features to draw the attention of the people towards their product. This ultimately results in competition between the mobile manufacturers. With the release of Nexus 7, Google has set the tablet industry on fire as it offers varieties of features at low price tag. Likewise, Microsoft also unveiled a tablet named Surface just two weeks back, which has two versions named Surface RT and Surface Pro. Display

The Nexus 7 will sport a 7-inch IPS display screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The display present in this device is compared with many tablets like the Transformer Prime and Microsoft Surface.

Microsoft Surface will have a 10.6-inch ClearType HD Display. Microsoft has not yet confirmed the resolution of its Surface tablet but, it stated that the resolution would be around 720p. If so then, the chances of Nexus 7 beating the Microsoft’s Surface are more.

Aesthetics

The Nexus 7 strength will lie in bringing up the high-end hardware. The dimension of the device will measure 198.5 x 120 x 10.45mm. The tablet will be encased in plastic and it fits perfectly into the hands of the people.

Microsoft’s Surface will be completely different from the Nexus and the other operating systems. The device will be constructed from magnesium liquid metal. The thickness of Surface will be about 9.3mm and it weighs 680g. Thus, Surface will stand out in aesthetics when compared with Nexus 7.

Processor

Nexus 7 will be powered by 1.3GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. The device will run on Android Jelly Bean along with 12-core ULP Nvidia GPU. This will surely make it great for multi-tasking and gaming.

Microsoft’s Surface will be powered by Nvidia ARM processor on Surface RT and Intel iCore i5 on Surface Pro. At present, there is not much detail on the data, but there is a wide guess that Tegra 3 quad core with a speed of around 1.5GHz and a GeForce GPU will be available. There are chances of Microsoft’s Surface beating the Nexus.

Storage

Nexus 7 will come with less storage capacity when compared to the Microsoft Surface. Though the Nexus 7 has storage of 8GB or 16GB, it can perform multitasking, processing and connectivity.

Microsoft’s Surface will come with a storage capacity of 16GB or 32GB with a micro SD card. Microsoft’s Surface having such better internal storage options and full SD support, it will beat the Nexus 7 in this context.

Connectivity and others

The Nexus 7 will have an integrated Wi-Fi and a powerful battery of 4,325mAh. It will also have a NFC for Android Beam, microphone, GPS, Bluetooth, gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer and many more.

While the Surface RT will have the connectivity and other features like USB 2.0, 2×2 MIMO antennae, Micro HD Video, Office 15 Apps, Type Cover and Touch Cover. Surface Pro will feature Mini DisplayPort Video, 2×2 MIMO antennae, USB 3.0, microSDXC etc. The tablet will also have a pen with Palm Block.

Sum-up

Though, Microsoft has revealed only some limited information about its Surface tablets, the company is yet to reveal more specs, features, price tag and launch of the Surfaces. While, Google has exposed all the details about its Nexus tablet and it is all set to get launched by mid-July.
