HP has launched a business-oriented notebook called Elitebook 2170p in India. It is specially designed for business professionals and frequent travelers. The new Elitebook from HP is claimed to be the lightest as well as smallest notebook in the Elitebook series. HP has successfully incorporated a host of exciting features, latest technologies and good battery life into this compact notebook that helps the users to follow their businesses efficiently even while on the move. The brand new HP Elitebook 2170p notebook is available in Indian market with a starting price of Rs. 69,000 only.

Elitebook 2170p notebook measures 29.2 x 19.2 x 2.65 cm in dimension and it weighs around 1.31 kg. It can work on Windows 7 Professional 32, Windows 7 Professional 64, Windows 7 Home Premium 64, and/or Free DOS Operating System. Plus, the notebook will be made available with Intel Ivy Bridge processors in different variants like Core i3, i5, and i7. Similarly, the storage configurations also range from 500GB HDDs to 256GB SSDs, depending on the variants. In spite of being a compact notebook, it consists of an 11.6 inch screen with antiglare property for display. The LED backlit screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.
HP has included a double-shot rubber frame on the display, which helps in protecting the display screen from scratches and other damages caused by vibration, shock, or by packing the notebook tightly in a carrying case while travelling. Moreover, the HP DisplaySafe frame makes sure that the notebook does not meet with any accidental contact with the palm rest or keyboard at the time of closing the panel. HP’s novel design has minimized the openings between the top and bottom of the device, which results in improved tight and fit closed position.
The notebook is constructed with an extremely strong magnesium-aluminum chassis. It can bear even a massive amount of physical shock and pressure. The HP DuraCase used in the notebook has very superior strength-to-weight properties and it results in considerably more stiff and strong chassis compared to previous models of Elitebook. The notebook supports a feature called ‘battery lock’ for protecting the battery from drop, shock and other similar damages. As per the manufacturer, 2170p notebook can deliver around eight hours of battery life, which is really very impressive for a notebook.
The keyboard incorporated in the 2170p notebook is a full-sized and spill-resistant keyboard that comes with backlighting option. Plus, the notebook offers an amazing choice of having an integrated 720p HD webcam in it. Another promising feature added in the notebook to maximize its efficiency is its compatibility with regular docking stations used across the range of HP business notebooks. HP Mobile Broadband is also another great optional feature that enables the users to access Internet, emails and corporate networks directly on the notebook.
A useful feature called ‘HP Power Assistant’ helps the notebook to expand its battery life time by reducing the consumption of energy by using a new and easy user-interface. This simple interface would enable the user to save power, precisely monitor the reported power requirements and report workforce power utilization. Plus, SRS Premium Sound PRO and integrated stereo speakers promises enhanced audio quality. HP has also added several security features like smart card reader, security lock slot, HP fingerprint sensor (optional) and lot more in the notebook. The connectivity options being offered by notebook include a 5-in-1 card reader, 2 USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet, DisplayPort, a docking connector, a headphone and a microphone jack.
