Sony has officially unveiled its newest Android 4.0 based Walkman series, named Sony Walkman F800. This is the second time that Sony is launching an Android powered Walkman. The first portable media device running on Android OS (2.3 version), called NW-Z1000, was launched back in the year 2011. Now, with Android 4.0 OS, the device will be much more powerful and entertaining compared to its predecessor. The new series of Walkman coming with a number of pre-installed applications and a media gallery will definitely provide the ultimate on-the-go entertainment experience to its users. The NW-F800 walkman will be made available in different flavors and with internal memory ranging from 16 GB up to 64 GB. It is expected to hit the market on or around 20th October for a starting price of 23,000 Yen up to 35,000 Yen for the 64 GB version.

The new-gen walkman will feature a 3.5-inch touch screen display that supports multi touch functionality. The maximum resolution of the screen is 480 x 320 pixels. The device will be powered by a 1 GHz Tegra 2 Processor coupled with 512 MB of RAM. Plus, it will come with the S-Master MX Digital Amplifier that ensures improved audio reproduction. Another interesting thing about this music player is that it comes preloaded with Sony and Android apps. In addition, the device will also allow the users to download multimedia content, games and apps via Google Play Store.
The NW-F800 walkman will offer a number of useful connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack. You will also be able to enjoy your music out loud via the integrated xLOUD speaker system. This portable media player guarantees an impressive battery life of up to 4.5 hours of video playback as well as around 20 hours of music listening. It will support almost all audio files such as MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC, ATRAC, ATRAC Advanced lossless, HE-AAC & PCM, and even various video files like MEG-4, WMV and AVC H.264. In addition to above mentioned specs, the device will provide 16 GB, 32 GB, or 64 GB of storage space depending on the variant that you select.
