A gaming tablet called, Wikipad was unveiled at CES earlier this year. Wikipad Inc., the manufacturer of wikipad tablet, has recently revealed the final specs of the upcoming tablet in an exclusive interview with VentureBeat. The revealed specs are truly very impressive and it clearly shows that the Wikipad tablet will deliver an amazing console style gaming experience to the people who love games. Unfortunately, Wikipad Inc. has not revealed any thing about the price and official launch date of the Wikipad. However, it is highly expected that the tablet will hit the market shelves by the end of this year 2012.

When the tablet was first unveiled at CES show, it was featuring a 7 inch screen. However, the real final specs of the tablet says that the gaming tablet will have a 10.1-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixels of resolution and an aspect ratio of 16:10. The device will be powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30 1.4 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM, making it more powerful than the popular Nexus 7 slate which works on a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The device will measure a mere 8.6mm of thickness which will definitely include the tablet’s name in one of the thinnest 10 inch tablet ever. Plus, it will be very light in weight as it will weigh just 560 gram.
The particular specification that has increased the excitement level even more is its Operating System. Wikipad Inc. has confirmed that the gaming tablet Wikipad will come with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Operating System. Plus, the tablet will offer the controller add-on for the ultimate gaming advantages. The controller will connect to the tablet from the bottom side of the device with a proprietary connector. The controller will have 2 sets of bumpers, triggers, and analog sticks along with 4 face buttons, start, and select. In addition, the controller will have a port for connection of the device with the power source on the back.
Most probably, the Wikipad tablet will offer at least 16 GB of internal storage capacity which can be further expanded up to 64 GB via microSD card. Moreover, the tablet will be equipped with a rear facing camera of 8 MP that would come along with 720p HD video recording capability. Plus, there will be a front facing camera of 2 MP. Under the hood, the tablet will have a 23.46Wh battery that can deliver around 6 hours of continuous gaming and 8 hours of video playback. Lastly, don’t expect to see the wikipad with 3D display as it was displayed at the time of unveiling. For now, the tablet will not support 3D display but at the same time, the maker has stated that the future models of the wikipad gaming tablet may come with 3D display.
