Sprint comes with something that might fit your budget!!! ZTE Optik 7, a new budget-friendly Android tablet from the Sprint network is coming with pretty decent features. The tablet will be the part of Sprint’s ever-growing family of 3G enabled devices. Sprint has plans to release the 7-inch ZTE Optik in March. If you are looking for the tablet that fit in your budget, then Sprint’s ZTE Optik will be good for you as it is specially targeting the budget sector with a $99.99 price tag. Not much guessing to be done regarding the features and the specifications of the tablet as a leaked document divulged a secret on a compact tablet’s features, price and release date.
The ZTE Optik comes packed with decent specifications. The tablet will be powered by Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system but Sprint has not made any announcement regarding the update of operating system to the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich i.e. Google’s most ambitious release to date. The tablet sports 7 inch display with a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and comes powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor. For a budget-friendly tablet, it will be considered as a bonus point that you will be able to obtain a built-in snapper for low-quality shots.
Additionally, you will be pleased to know that the Optik will come with not only one but two shooters! It can take pride of its 5-megapixel camera on the rear side with an additional front-facing 2-megapixel camera for video calling. If we take a look on the storage capacity, the tablet is loaded with 1GB of RAM with 16GB in-built storage and a microSD card slot for further memory expansion. In terms of connectivity, the ZTE Optik has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and even 3G. For more battery backup, it comes with 4000mAh battery which can make the slate last through the whole day, at least, with moderate use. As per release, it will be available in only black color.
The price of the tablet is the most attracting feature of it as the Optik will be made available only for $99.99 with a contract of 2 year agreement with Sprint. But if you desire the device without any contract then you have to pay $349. Packed with decent specs, the tablet can absolutely go head-to-head with Ainol’s Novo 7 Paladin in terms of price. Along with the tablet, an optional smart cover was also revealed, which will come at the almost half of the price of the device. If you are eager to purchase ZTE Optik, you have to wait till the tablet goes on sale. On this February 5, the tablet will go for sale online. In Sprint stores, the tablet will be available from March 11.
With the launch of ZTE Optik that comes packed with decent features at an affordable price, a ferocious fight between the new and the existing tablets – RIM BlackBerry PlayBook and HTC EVO View 4G – is anticipated in the upcoming days.
