ArenaNet, a comparatively diminutive Seattle-area company is preparing to launch the slickest and most smartly developed massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). This MMO (massively multiplayer online) game is a sequel of ArenaNet’s Guild Wars, which is named as Guild Wars 2 - a prettier version of the original. Guild Wars 2 is an extremely huge and ambitious game project that ArenaNet has ever undertaken.

This visually stunning MMO game provides the players with classic splendor of a massive role playing environment united with the challenge of superlative player vs. player competition. Guild Wars 2 will be available for the PC platform. One great thing about this upgrading is that there will be no subscription fee like the original Guild Wars. You just buy and play the online game without any need of paying a monthly fee.
Guild Wars 2 is an entire new game with new technology, different professions and races, and expanded game-play. The fans will get some hands-on time with Player vs. Player (PvP) content of Guild Wars 2. This latest MMO features lots of cool new content, which haven’t seen before: a dynamic world that alters depending on actions of players, and quests being generated depending on earlier failures and successes. The quest zones in this latest MMO are open and filled with players. Here you can participate in public quests, which occur around zones, wander, jump, swim, and fight underwater.
The story behind the game is that the land of Tyria was raged with war and chaos for generations. 5 immense races warred and contended against one another to get the balance of power in their favor. After that, the dragons awaken. The all-powerful monsters woke from their millennial sleep under sea and earth. With their mysterious breath, the dragons created twisted slaves’ legions and spread devastation. A deathless dragon known as Zhaitan increased the sunken nation of Orr, and triggered tidal waves and earthquakes which destroyed whole urbans across the Sea of Sorrows. The undead armies of Zhaitan rushed forward from the sea, eager for the devastation of the 5 races of Tyria: the humans, an embattled but resilient people; the sylvari, a strange young race of visionary plant folk; the norn, towering shapeshifters from the frosty northern lands; the asura, mysterious inventors of great intellect and small size; and the charr, a vicious race of feline warriors. Now, heroes from the 5 races must leave primeval rivalries behind and stand mutually in opposition to their common enemies. Technology, cold steel, and magic will decide the eventual destiny of the world.
There are 5 races to choose from: the humans, the sylvari, the norn, the asura, and the charr. Guild Wars 2 features 8 professions with very distinct play-skills and styles – Mesmer, engineer, ranger, guardian, thief, warrior, necromancer, and elementalist. For the first time, players will be able to forge their destiny as a member of Ash, Iron, or Blood Legion by exploring the Charr starter area.
Guild Wars 2 is the narrative of you and your brave adventures, which you have experienced in the dynamic, massive world of Tyria. With the personal, customizable storylines in Guild Wars 2, you can follow unique story of your own character and can explore an entirely interactive MMO world with your buddies.
Guild Wars 2 has continued the latest MMO trend of making story important and meaningful in an online setting. However, the better thing is that your personal story is based wholly on your choice of race instead of class, as well as the classes are not race-restricted. This means players will not find themselves trapped with some game-play mechanics, which they might not enjoy. The story of your character will reflect your choices and your interest. Two players will not have the same experience.
Creating a character is the first requirement to begin the story. There is a requirement of making choices for race, gender, profession, and biographical details at the beginning of the game to set your character on a personalized story track, before heading on to the background and history. The features at this stage are really eye-catching, and as you select more and more custom features, the background screen alters consequently, with attractive sketches of weapons and races that provide you a real feel for the game. On the whole, Guild Wars 2 really shines at its appearance.
However, it does not end there – as you adventure, the decisions made by you spin off into new directions and new storylines. You will also require making some personality choices, which affect dialogue options and ultimately, the direction of your story. For example, if you have selected a female norn guardian character, then you will be able to select whether your norn wore some pauldrons to show her stripes as a religious fanatic, or a helm to identify her as a truth seeker.
After getting everything perfect for the character, one can start the play with a cutscene which looks completely gorgeous. The cutscene will be different based on race selection. For example, for the human race, the whole process runs smoothly, the graphics are flawless, and the voiceover of your own character gives a good insight into the present state of affairs. This new introduction in Guild Wars 2 is really capable of setting the scene vividly, showing off many visual effects and different environments.
The fun really begins after an adequate re-welcoming into the vast kingdom of Tyria. The quests will be given in right, left and center, but obviously it depends on you whether you dive right in or not, or explore the world a little bit.
Another exciting feature is an easy underwater exploration, which eliminates some traditional limitations of aquatic travelling found in many games. The underwater zones greatly inflate the explorable areas and open up thrilling new possibilities in Guild Wars 2.
The first thing which will be surely noticed by players is the slight changing to the HUD. It comes with a pretty standard appearance, which is common all through MMOs, and it looks neat with abilities and skills at the bottom in line with various keys. Your player’s health will be displayed neatly in the center of the skills bar, it will be displayed by means of circle, and empties of its red colour means your player lose health.
Moreover, as you play through and initiate destroying some things, your new skills will be awarded to you immediately, and you will be able to see on the skills bar that how distant you are from unlocking new moves and talents. Everything on the skills bar has its rightful place, and it is truly outlined for ease of use. This is the thing which makes the game-play simple but let it to remain engaging and exciting.
The new quest system of Guild Wars 2 is even entirely revamped with the hope of dynamic-events system. As the events are influenced by who you are in the game, they are even influenced by where you are. This quest system considers where you are and then updates you about any quests, which are in the area. The quests are even clearly shown on the right of the screen and it is a good idea, which will surely promote exploration to discover quests, but sometimes it seems a bit confused – quests frequently emerged out of nowhere.
Lastly, the honors and achievements collected by all the players on your Guild Wars account are memorialized in the Hall of Monuments that is accessible only in Guild Wars: Eye of the North. The Hall of Monuments are worth points, which can be utilized to present your Guild Wars 2 players with exclusive items, titles, mini-pets and animal companions. You can also utilize the Hall of Monuments Reward Calculator to find out what rewards you have unlocked, and recognize how the benefits are calculated.
