During the E3 2011 which took place in June last year at Los Angeles, Nintendo displayed a prototype of the device. The concept was praised by the fans of Wii and its predecessors. They considered Wii U to be the best gadget as Nintendo’s flagship in the gaming market. During the E3 2012, users will be able to see a fully functional New Wii U with the modifications to be admired. The release date has not been revealed officially, but it is expected to be released around the winter holidays.
Features of the new Nintendo Wii U:
Some of the new features that can be seen in the new Nintendo Wii U include:
Analog Sticks
The new controller will feature two better analog control sticks, as opposed to the previously featured nubs similar to those found on the Nintendo 3DS. It means that the price of the console may increase but at the same time it will make the device more comfortable to handle. The earlier nub-style analog worked well, but they were not good enough during game as it was really difficult to locate them by the thumbs. Apparently, the ease of use was compromised with such style of analog controllers. Besides, experienced gamers have always been used to play with this type of analog sticks.
A mystery button
A new square shaped button has been found on the left side of the front panel of the controller. It is an unmarked and unknown button. The function that the button performs is not known yet. There was no such button in the previous model. The presence of the new button means that it should have some function.
The logo
The Wii U logo has now been moved on the bottom-left position in the front. The previous model didn’t have the logo on the front. Earlier it was on the back of the tab. Now people will be able to easily see the trademarked brand.
Start and select buttons
The next modification is the Start and Select buttons, which were used to be at the bottom of the controller, surrounding the Home button. Now both these buttons have been moved to the right hand side, which makes them more accessible by the right hand of the user.
Nintendo has made many improvements in its flagship device to make it more enjoyable for the gamers. Apart from all this, the company is also trying to expand the peer to peer platform of the new Wii U to make it more exciting and lovable for the customers. Through this platform, users will be able to compete and communicate using their gadgets. This functionality has been made possible through the NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.
