French company, Alcatel, usually makes low-cost handsets, but its Alcatel OneTouch 995 makes the company stand out of the crowd. This budget-friendly Android was rumored greatly back in November. Finally, the time comes when this smartphone is going to be available in the market shortly. It is expected that the smartphone will retail at tempting price of about $270.

Earlier, this phone was rumored to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but sadly it comes with only Gingerbread. The uncovered fact is that OneTouch 995 manages to include just enough quality components at such a low price. However, the main selling point of One Touch 995 might be its affordability; the handset will be able to hold both tags – attractive and functional.
This latest device comes with a spacious 4.3-inch 800 x 480 IPS LCD display, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash along with the Alcatel’s additional micro-HDMI port with DLNA support. It is powered by 1.4GHz single core processor and runs on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread interface. The device purchaser may get an impressive UI or the 3D carousel, which is similar to SPB Shell 3D, a type of home screen launcher to make the home screen rotate and appear in 3D. The phone has plastic enclosure but it is comfortable to hold. Pleasingly, the company’s finest handset to date will be available in a variety of colors.
