HTC J is WiMAX-enabled Android Phone for Japan



HTC announced a new Japan-only Android smartphone, called HTC J smartphone along with WiMAX connectivity. Actually, it is the Japanese version of the HTC One S that has just been released on the market. As this is high-end featured phone and planning to come in upcoming days, it is obvious for HTC J that it will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform along with HTC’s own Sense UI 4.0 singing on top. Another best part is that it will be packed with a Snapdragon S4 chipset, which features two dual-core processors clocked at 1.5 GHz. The newly announced device will join the major carrier KDDI’s range in late May.

This Japanese phone is also equipped with 4.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that carries Touch-sensitive controls and a display resolution of 16M colors. Even its display comes with the resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and carries ~256 ppi pixel density. The protection of Corning Gorilla Glass along with HTC Sense UI makes the phone durable in use. Storage capacity of the device is expanded with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory along with a microSD card slot.

When it comes to the camera feature, the phone has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front facing photo snapper. Also, the camera has 3264 x 2448 pixels of resolution and standard camera features like LED flash, autofocus, image recording and facilitates for simultaneous HD video, etc. Video 1080p@30fps, stereo sound recording, video stabilization, geo-tagging, carries a secondary VGA camera for video calling and face and smile detection, all these comes with a phone to capture memorable moments of life.

For the connectivity options, the device has many in the list including GPRS, EDGE (along with a speed of HSDPA, HSUPA, WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n), DLNA, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi hotspot, with A2DP and microUSB (MHL) v2.0 connector. Other exciting features include Stereo FM radio, MMS, Push Email, HTML Browser, Adobe Flash, GPS, Java via Java MIDP emulator, and more. Also, the smartphone packs gyro, accelerometer sensor, proximity and compass. The device supports MP4 player along with MP3 player and it weighs just 142g and measures 66 x 132 x 10 mm. It is powered by 1810 mAh battery.

Best of all, this upcoming device will come with support for One-Seg mobile wallet service. This time, KDDI will offer this new phone in all black, all white and black with red.
