The Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi is once again going to introduce an affordable high-end handset in the smartphone market with the intent to repeat the success story of its first handset, Xiaomi MI-1. Packed with high-end specs and deeply customized Android experience, Xiaomi MI-1 devices have been sold pretty well in one year span. Now, almost a year later, the speculations are revolving about the arrival of Chinese company’s next-generation smartphone. Some photos and information regarding the latest Xiaomi device, dubbed as ‘Xiaomi MI-2’, are finally surfaced.

The leaked specs are very impressive, illustrating that the latest device will be more attractive than its original version. The most relevant specification of this latest device is its superior 720p HD display screen, which makes it more impressive. The rear shooter on the device will be featured with a dual LED flash, enabling the users to capture images even in low light scenarios. However, this new generation device will not come packed with a front-end camera.
Xiaomi MI-2 is speculated to come with a high-end Qualcomm quad core processor. As far as the OS spec is considered, the leak doesn’t reveal any confirmed news, but the device is speculated to be featured with either Android Jelly Bean or the Windows 8 version. Alongside the latest OS of either Android or Windows, the quad core processor will provide abundant operating efficiency to the device.
A capacious 1700mAh battery will be packed in Xiaomi MI-2 to offer significant operating time. According to the leaked info, the device will not have a replaceable battery. For location tracing functionality, MI-2 will come featured with GPS facility just like its previous version.
When it comes to the hardware and form-factor, the device holds something unique; its back-cover can be opened vertically to access battery and SIM card. There will be a two-tone back panel: a side-removable blue panel and a black panel around the loudspeaker and the camera. It will hit the market presumably by this August as most affordable high-end quad-core smartphone with a price tag of around $313 USD.
