The Walt Disney Company recently made a move to pep up its appeal and to convey the conventional values of this cartoon company into the 21st century via a partnership with NTT DoCoMo. This collaboration of Disney with DoCoMo wireless services will be known by a new joint brand name “Disney Mobile on DoCoMo“.
The new “Disney Mobile on DoCoMo” brand is debuting in the smartphone market with two new Android-powered handsets – the F-08D and the P-05D. Both the handsets will be packed with exclusive content from magical world of Disney like games, movies, full-length animations, wallpapers, overseas dramas and more. These handsets will be available in the Japan market only; the F-08D will hit the Japan market in the end of February and the P-05D will hit the Japan market in March.
The F-08D has been made by the partnership of Disney with Fujitsu. The F-08D by Fujitsu is powered with a fast 1.2GHz dual-core OMAP4430 processor. It sports a 4.3” HD LCD display with a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution, 13MP rear camera, front-facing CMOS camera and 32GB expandable memory. The F-08D is a luxury smartphone, which is featured with silhouettes of Mickey and Minnie Mouse on the back. Besides the exclusive Disney features, the device has lots of extra features like the infrared data connection, Osaifu-Keitai’s mobile wallet and TV services, waterproof/dustproof design, etc.
A great feature of the device is that, Mickey Mouse comes into view in all kinds of places but without being too conspicuous. The device even comes with a tabletop holder that contains a Mickey design. Thickness wise, the device measures 8.8 mm and it weighs 120 grams. It will be offered in two color options: Shiny Pink and Shiny White. Pre-ordering for this device will open from 17th February.
Disney has partnered with Panasonic to launch P-05D. The P-05D by Panasonic is powered with a dual-core 1GHz processor and it is featured with a one of four Disney branded jackets. This device sports a 4.3-inch OLED display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution, rear camera and 32GB expandable memory. The OLED display will provide vivid colors and very smooth scrolling, so the stuff like the Disneyland Electrical Parade live wallpaper will appear great.
This device will also be dustproof and waterproof, and will even feature Osaifu-Keitai’s mobile wallet services. The Home key of the device is intended like head of Mickey Mouse. As well, you can download original widgets such as Disney weather forecast, pedometer, and an alarm clock. So, you will be able to enjoy the world of Disney daily with this model. The main feature of P-05D is that it is really lightweight and slim as it weighs just 103 g and only 7.8 mm thick. Two color options are offered: Pure White and Pure Black.
