A new mid-range, social-focused smartphone from Sony, the Xperia Miro has been announced by Sony. Sony Xperia Miro has been initially revealed on Sony Mobile’s Facebook page. This Android smartphone will come with a solid ability for social networking. Sony Xperia Miro will be equipped with features like a 3.5″ HVGA display with the resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, DLNA, and a bunch of Sony exclusive software tricks to go with the adjustable illumination effects of the handset. This handset will be powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System.

Sony Xperia Miro will feature a 5 megapixel camera that lets you to record videos up to 30 fps, an additional front facing camera, as well as unique and customizable illuminations for incoming messages and social updates. It is said that Sony Xperia Miro is a slim and stylish smartphone. This device will also include the 1500 mAh battery, WiFi b/g/n at 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of flash memory that can be expanded with microSD memory cards. It seems that this is a pretty low-end phone and powered by a Qualcomm MSM7225A CPU at 800 MHz. Its dimension is 113 x 59.4 x 9.9 mm and weight is 110 grams only.
It is expected on the basis of Sony’s promo video that there has been some development of the company’s “Facebook inside Xperia” initiative to bring even closer integration between the phone and the social network. The Miro will be a colorful device, and come in silver, black, pink and gold. The Xperia Miro may be available in Europe first, but there is no word on US availability yet. There is no information about retail availability or pricing of the freshly announced Xperia Miro.
