ASUS Padfone series is an amazing smartphone/tablet hybrid series, in which a regular Android smartphone comes with a tablet it can dock into. The latest member of this series is PadFone Mini. The Taiwanese manufacturer launched PadFone Mini recently at an event in Taiwan. The two-in-one device includes a tablet dock similar to its larger siblings, allowing users to slide the smartphone into a dock when they want a bigger screen. It is cheaper and smaller version of the smartphone/tablet hybrid.
The Asus Padfone mini is a combination of a mid-range 4.3-inch smartphone and a 7-inch tablet. The previous PadFone devices feature 10″ tablet shell, so Padfone mini is the first PadFone series device to include a 7-inch tablet dock. The handset sports a 4.3-inch Super IPS display with 960x540p (qHD) resolution compared to the 4.7 inch screen of previous models. It weighs and measures 105g and 129.3×65.6×8.7mm, respectively. Ever since Finland based mobile startup company – Jolla announced its first-generation smartphone, which carry the company name, it has created a lot of buzz among the technology enthusiasts with its simplicity. Now the company has finally released the official specs of Jolla phone powered by Sailfish operating system, which is heavily gesture-based. Two major electronics companies, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and Qualcomm Inc announced smartwatches recently named Samsung Galaxy Gear and the Toq, at nearly simultaneous events in Berlin and San Diego respectively. Both the smartwatches may retail at $300, and the Samsung Galaxy Gear will be available from late September in most districts and October in the U.S. and Japan; while the Qualcomm Toq is planned for a Q4 2013 release. Rumors regarding the new smartphone named HTC Zara have been flying around for some time. The first rumour suggests that Zara will be a plastic-bodied phone, and then another rumour emerged saying the device will be a combination of HTC One and Desire 600 phone. This time serial leakster, @evleaks has posted a snapshot (showing the rear & front design) and specifications of this much-awaited smartphone on Twitter. As per the leaked snapshot, HTC Zara will look just like HTC One in terms of design. But, it will be made from matt black polycarbonate plastic rather than aluminum.
